In the heart of besieged Gaza, a short-statured clown carries laughter as a shield against destruction, moving among the rubble and children, trying to protect his family in a war that knows no mercy.

After three children are found tragically dead, a band of college students are forced to conduct an investigation. And that is when terror from a mysterious clown figure starts to mount. Our heroes soon realize that what they are facing is a force that disguises its darkness through laughter—a force so menacing, it will not hesitate to take lives to get what it wants: immortality.

The story takes place at a time in Joseon history, when upheaval and power struggles surrounding the throne had reached extreme levels. In order to escape those who plan to assassinate him, the king puts a clown, who looks exactly like him, on the throne.
